OK. Almost there, just need to add instascrabble to the deployed projects and I think I’m ready to switch over to the new nginx server.
I’ve got my nginx server deployed using docker-compose! It is serving my blog and link-scrabble correctly!
I now need to move my personal site over to the new format so that it can be served in the same way. Should be simple enough!
Actually I just need to add the git user to my existing docker user group.
I’ve got docker and docker-compose up and running on my
server, but I’m having difficulty getting the git
user to
access the docker daemon.
I was planning on having the git
user that runs the build scripts also run the
docker-compose up
required to restart services. I think
it’s safe to say that if the git user is already rebuilding
my entire blog, it’s no worse for it to also restart my
nginx service via docker.
So I need to give access to the docker daemon to the git user.
I just had a moment where I just got completely overwhelmed.
I thought I handled it ok, ditched my coffee for some soothing tea, put some chilled out music on.
And my mum offered me help but I just got more overwhelmed and told her I needed a moment.
I really appreciate her help but sometimes I just need to zone out and relax a bit and talk about it later.
OK. Time to put get that nginx server up. I want to get a docker-compose thing working first, which means making a new project in my deployable git repo.
I’m testing a new thing that I’ve added to non-visited permalinks to indicate that the haven’t been read.
I think it looks quite nice :)
Added a badge to unvisited links - wondering if it worked…
I think I will work on the “:visited” bit for permalinks.
I got massively distracted looking into sending notification emails out when I post something new. I’ve figured out how to send an email but formatting one to the point where I’m happy with the visuals will take a bit more work.
Another thing that would take some time to set up is an email address aggregating service for the mail list.
