#generated

Sometimes I like making generative art with p5.

I started getting more into generative art last winter but haven’t done so much recently.

The other evening I decided to try to procedurally generate voronoi diagrams but I gave up after discovering this technique of drawing with animated circles.

It’s a simple technique that yields quite satisfying results. The two circles vary in position and diameter over time. The function by which these parameters decides the end result. To begin with, I chose simple linear or reciprocal functions. Towards the end of the evening, I had settled on a combination of trigonometric functions sin and cos, which create waves that can be seen in the last four images.

The main colours are #4ce698, #e6529c, #545454.
